Spectra Logic's Commitment to Environmentally Sound Practices
Spectra Logic is committed to environmentally sound practices including, but not limited to, office and materials recycling, product design and recyclability and compliance with all applicable environmental regulations.
Environmental Directive Compliance
We build our products in the US and comply with many standards including:
- European Union Directive 2002/96/EC of January 27, 2003 on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
- Directive 2002/95/EC of January 27, 2003 on the Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS)
- China's Management Methods for Controlling Pollution by Electronic Information Products (Ministry of Information Industry Order #39)
The goal of these directives, and of Spectra Logic, is to minimize any potentially harmful substances in developing and manufacturing Spectra products. Spectra Logic is also tracking the status of other global directives and initiatives that support environmentally sound practices, so that we can be ready to support them.
In support of conservation efforts and to minimize costs, Spectra Logic products have been designed to use less power than competing products, and the resulting lower power consumption saves money and support our larger environment. For more data on how our products reduce power consumption, please review Spectra White Papers on Cost, Time, and Complexity.
Spectra Logic employees take advantage of the multiple avenues provided to recycle paper, containers, and more. Our manufacturing plant also recycles scrap metal and salvages materials, to limit our overall environmental footprint.
