Spectra Logic earned top honors in the 2012 Quality Awards program, winning both the enterprise and midrange tape library categories. Sweeping the win for the 2012 Tape Library Quality awards marks the sixth time the company has won first place in a Quality Awards category. Spectra Logic outpaced competing midrange and enterprise tape library solutions from IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Oracle, Quantum and Dell. End-user respondents gave Spectra Logic particularly high marks for initial product quality, product reliability, and its knowledgeable sales force representatives and technical support personnel.
Spectra® T-Finity and T950 tape libraries achieved the highest rankings and were named the market's "Best in Class" products in the Data Center Infrastructure Group (DCIG) 2012 Big Data Tape Library Buyer's Guide. According to DCIG's independent research study, the Spectra Logic T-Finity and T950 models attained the top, "Best in Class" rankings for the dual robot and single robot classes of libraries, respectively.
The Denver Post named Spectra Logic a Top Workplace in Denver. Spectra Logic was selected based on nominations and surveys of employees conducted by the Denver Post’s partner in the project, WorkplaceDynamics. The survey measured six key factors: direction, execution, conditions, careers, managers, pay and benefits.
Betsy Doughty, Director of Channel Development, was named by Everything Channel's CRN Magazine as one of the Top Women of the Channel in 2011. This annual list recognizes female executives for their accomplishments based on their achievements as executives and the amount of influence they wield over the technology channel. The Top Women of the Channel list is chosen by the editors of CRN Magazine from a field of vendor channel organizations, distributors and solution providers.
The Spectra T-Finity tape library was recognized at the 2011 UK Storage Awards ('The Storries') as the Tape-Based Product of the Year, as voted by the readers of Storage Magazine. Spectra Logic secured the prestigious award by outpacing drive and library product competition from Dell, HP, IBM, Oracle, Overland Storage, Qualstar, Quantum and Tandberg in the Tape-Based Product of the Year category.
Spectra Logic was named a nominee in the 2011 Apex Awards, the prestigious technology awards recognizing outstanding accomplishments and leadership by Colorado's advanced technology companies and professionals. Since the program's inception in 2000, CSIA's Apex Awards have acknowledged Colorado-based organizations and professionals in the categories of success, innovation, vision, leadership, excellent customer support and community contributions.
Spectra Logic was named a Five-Star Winner in the 2011 CRN Partner Program Guide, a definitive listing of vendors who either have programs that service solution providers or provide products to the Channel. The 5-Star Partner Program recognizes an elite subset of vendors in the Partner Programs Guide who give solution providers the best partnering elements in their channel programs.
Spectra Logic's Molly Rector was named to BCBR's 2011 "Forty under 40" list. This award honors select professionals under the age of 40 who are helping to shape the future through their contributions to the Boulder Valley Community
Spectra Logic's Betsy Doughty was named in the Channel Chiefs 2011 program by Everything Channel's CRN. Channel Chiefs are leaders in creating effective channel programs for solution providers. They consistently defend, promote and execute effective channel partner programs and strategies.
The Spectra T-Finity tape library was named a finalist in the backup hardware category in the 8th annual program. T-Finity can accommodate up to 30,000 cartridge slots in a single library, allowing it to scale to 91 petabytes of compressed data.
Spectra Logic received the highest scores in all six categories for its midrange and enterprise tape libraries in the Quality Awards V Program. Spectra’s products also earned the highest scores for any tape library covered in all five years of the awards program. This honor is based on results from a survey issued by the Storage magazine/SearchStorage.com staff to its qualified end user readers.
The Spectra T-Finity was named "Green Storage Product of the Year" at the seventh annual Storage Awards 2010. The Storries VII awards program honors outstanding products, services and people, and winners are selected based on votes submitted by readers of Storage Magazine in the UK.

The 2009 Awards saw, in excess of 6000 readers vote (22,000+ votes cast in total) for their favorite products, people and companies. Spectra Logic won the award for "Storage Website of the Year 2009."

LTO-4 hit the market in 2007, bringing improved speeds and feeds as well as native tape encryption for data security. Spectra Logic shipped its LTO-4 tape library with some key management software, essential to managing encryption, but an ingredient missing from many LTO-4 tape products. Read More

Spectra Logic BlueScale Encryption customer R.C. Willey Home Furnishings was selected by Computerworld as a finalist of its “Best Practices in Storage” Awards Program at SNW-Fall 2006. R.C. Willey was named finalist in the “Securing the Storage Fortress” Category, which recognizes organizations that proactively observe the need to protect their stored data from internal and external threats.
Spectra Logic was named a winner in Byte and Switch’s Big Bytes awards program, which honors innovation and excellence in storage networking. BlueScale Encryption was one of three products named finalist in the Storage Network Security category.
