Spectra Logic NASTAPE 100 Qualified with Microsoft Windows Platform

Spectra Logic iSCSI Tape Device is Interoperable with Windows® Operating System

BOULDER, Colo., —November 19, 2003— Microsoft recently qualified Spectra Logic’s NAStape 100 for interoperability with the Windows platform under the Designed for Windows Logo Program for iSCSI devices. Spectra Logic became the first tape library vendor to market with a native iSCSI tape device in April. IT managers can now expect the affordability and ease of connectivity inherent to all-native iSCSI tape devices and standalone tape drives backed by rigorous testing and qualification from Microsoft.

“Today’s announcement is a major step forward in making IP storage networks more accessible and cost-effective for customers,” said Zane Adam, director of product management and marketing for the Enterprise Storage Division at Microsoft. “Spectra Logic’s participation in this program with the qualification of their NAStape 100 product offers a step in that direction.”

The Designed for Windows Logo Program promotes quality product development practices that ensure a good user experience on Windows. The program brings hardware and software quality standards under a single logo, making it easier for customers to recognize products that are designed to deliver a great computing experience with the Windows operating system. Customers should be able to easily use the Designed for Windows Logo to identify which solutions are committed to this quality bar and will deliver the best Windows experience.
