Spectra Logic Partners with Federal Edge to Increase West Coast Government Focus

BOULDER, Colo., —January 5, 2004—Federal, state and local government agencies today are growing more concerned with securing data integrity while reducing TCO due to today's storage and regulatory demands. Spectra Logic has signed a value added reseller (VAR) agreement with Riverside, Calif.-based Federal Edge to address growth and increase its already solid government focus for the West Coast.

Spectra Logic has seen a significant increase in government revenue through VARs since the formulation of a dedicated government staff in 2002, when it established an aggressive government sales and marketing program. Spectra Logic holds GSA Contract number GS-35F-0563K.

“Federal Edge and Spectra Logic selected each other as partners shortly after the company announced its latest half-inch mixed media tape library, the Spectra T950,” said Steven Lockmiller, director of federal sales for Federal Edge. “Federal Edge can now offer Spectra Logic’s versatile array of tape libraries to agencies that demand specific technologies.”

Federal Edge works with a variety of agencies including Air National Guard, the Pentagon, the U. S. Air Force and the U. S. Navy.  Federal Edge will resell Spectra Logic’s full line of tape libraries—the Spectra 2K, Spectra 10K, Spectra 20K, Spectra 64K and the Spectra T950—to these and other government agencies.
