Spectra Logic Expands Storage Solutions with Microsoft Simple SAN Program

PHOENIX , SNW SPRING 2005, April 13, 2005—Spectra Logic is announcing participation in Microsoft’s Simple SAN Program.   With this program Microsoft is ensuring serviceable, easily deployed, comprehensive SAN solutions that include both data storage hardware and software. This program helps all levels of Windows customers implement SANs simply, regardless of connectivity infrastructure— either Fibre Channel or iSCSI.

“Windows is the number one deployed server application in SAN environments today,” said Dr. Claude Lorenson, senior product manager, Windows Server Division at Microsoft Corporation. “By qualifying key industry partners like Spectra Logic and offering bundled storage solutions, we can simplify and improve our customers storage experience.”

Since 45 percent of the server market is in small and medium sized businesses Microsoft developed the Simple SAN program, in which Microsoft provides storage vendor qualification requirements that, when met, will help the end customer realize the goal of a simplified SAN deployment for their Windows platform. Spectra Logic libraries are part of the deployment.
