Library Relocation

The following procedures and policies apply to Spectra Logic libraries that are under any level of service contract, including warranty.

  • These policies apply to moving the library outside of the building in which it is currently located.
  • Failure to follow these procedures may result in voiding the warranty or service contract and may require a recertification of the library, at the customer's expense.

Spectra 2K, 10K, T24, T50, T50e, 12K, 20K Relocation

  • Spectra Logic approved packaging must be used.  If the original packaging is no longer available, contact Spectra Logic to purchase.
  • The library may be packaged for the move and unpackaged by the customer.
    • If the customer opts to package the library, the customer is responsible for the cost of any repairs for damage that Spectra Logic determines is due to improper packaging.
    • The option is available to contact Spectra Logic to package and unpackage the library to ensure it is done appropriately.
  • Spectra Logic must be alerted of the new location of the unit.
  • If the library is being moved more than 25 miles, the customer will need to contact Spectra Logic to ensure the contracted service level is available at the new location.
    • Spectra Logic may require up to 30 days notice to be able to provide appropriate service at the new location.
    • Equipment relocated across country borders may require reestablishment of a service contract agreement. The customer will need to contact Spectra Logic to confirm availability of service and any associated costs.

Spectra 64K, T120, T200, T380, T680, T950, nTier500, nTier700 Relocation

  • Spectra Logic approved packaging must be used. If the original packaging is no longer available, contact Spectra Logic to purchase.
  • The library must be packaged for the move by a Spectra Logic certified field technician.
  • The library must be unpackaged at its final destination by a Spectra Logic certified field technician.
  • The customer needs to give Spectra Logic a minimum of five business days notice to be able to schedule appropriate field personnel.
  • The customer is responsible for the physical movement of the unit from the current destination to its future destination.
  • If the library is being moved more than 25 miles, the customer will need to contact Spectra Logic to ensure the contracted service level is available at the new location.
    • Spectra Logic may require up to 30 days notice to be able to provide appropriate service at the new location.
