Compatibility Matrices

Spectra Logic’s Network Hardware Support Policy

As new protocols become available in the marketplace, Spectra Logic makes every effort to comply with as many of the mainstream Host Bus Adapter (HBA) and switch manufacturers as is feasible in today’s changing marketplace. We acquire HBAs and switches as needed to assure that we are compliant with the accepted industry standards for these protocols as they are published. Spectra Logic publishes the information about HBAs and switches in our compatibility matrix so that our customer base knows which we have fully tested.

Should a customer have an HBA or switch that is not listed on our matrix or recommended by a Spectra Logic associate, Spectra Logic will assist the customer by testing the HBA or switch for the customer. The customer may place a request through Spectra Logic Technical Support or Professional Services to have the component in question tested. The customer should expect to provide the component to Spectra Logic, on loan, for at least thirty days for this testing and should expect a thirty to forty-five day lead time to schedule the testing. The component will be returned to the customer as soon as practical after the testing is complete. The customer may expect a full report of testing completed and the component’s compatibility with published specifications.

Only the following LTO media manufacturers are recommended and approved for use in Spectra data protection products, including T-Series libraries, iSCSItape and DAStape:

• Maxell
• TDK
• Sony

Caution: Do not use any type of tape drive or media that has not been approved by Spectra Logic for use in the Spectra Logic data protection products. If you intend to use unapproved media, or media other than those listed as approved above, please contact Spectra Logic for more information.
