Spectra Logic to Present at Denver’s SC17 on the Future of Tape Technology

BOULDER, Colo. – November 8, 2017 – Spectra Logic CTO Matt Starr will present on the future of Spectra tape technology within an Exhibitor Forum session open to all registered attendees of Supercomputing 2017 (SC17). The major high-performance computing (HPC) conference is being held November 12-17, 2017, at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. On the heels of several LTO-8 announcements made recently, Starr will discuss why tape library systems are the most cost-effective high-performance research storage solutions available, as well as how the current tape technology roadmap makes tape an ideal storage medium for data-intensive environments.

Title: “Spectra Logic Delivers a New Paradigm in Tape Library Deployment”
Date: Wednesday, November 15, 2017
Time: 3:30-4:00 p.m. MST
Location: SC17, Colorado Convention Center, 503-504

“Tape libraries are the best storage platform for high performance environments, given the solid tape technology roadmap, longevity of tape media for long-term storage needs and overall low cost for larger archives,” said Matt Starr, Spectra Logic’s CTO. “Spectra Logic’s tape library family offers unique features and interfaces, and is backed by excellent support options specifically designed for our HPC customers.”

Additionally, Hyperion Research senior research vice president Steve Conway and CEO Earl Joseph, along with Spectra Logic CSO Brian Grainger, will also be hosting an educational breakfast seminar for SC17 attendees as well as Denver-area HPC end users during SC17.
